THE POETICS OF BODY​

The masterclass focuses on the contemporary release technique using not only muscular structures, but also the breath, emphasizing usage of the strength of the center and the momentum of the movement. The class includes strong floor work and center practice combinations, choreographic material and composition, which are going through changes of qualities and dynamics. The movement journey will take the dancers and the participants to a dynamic dance that incorporates understanding of the interior and exterior space. After the first part, will follow repertoire works.
ATHANASIA KANELLOPOULOU​

Athanasia Kanellopoulou is an Athens based choreographer, dance performing artist and pedagogue, who owns a very rich history of collaborations, with acclaimed choreographers and Dance Institutions around the globe. She has studied with a scholarship at Rambert School in London and at Martha Graham School in New York. For over 18 years she has lived in Europe and collaborated with prestigious Choreographers and Companies worldwide. Among others are: the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch ( guest dancer 2002-2008), Les Ballets C de la B/ Koen Augustijnen, Jasmin Vardimon Company, Gregor Zoellig/Stadttheater Osnabruck Cocoondance, Alexandra Waierstall, Guy Weissman and Roni Haver, Rami Levi, Jossi Berg, Iker Gomez, In Jung Jun/Blue Elephant Company, etc. She has choreographed more than 20 works, as a guest choreographer in several Companies and Dance Institutions around Europe, Middle East and North Africa. She is currently living in Athens, and she is teaching Improvisation, Choreography and Repertoire Works at the School of the Greek National Opera and at the National School of Dance (KSOT.
